Stakeholder Consultations by Data for Policy CIC

Data for Policy CIC offers comprehensive stakeholder consultation services, tailored to the dynamic landscape of data and AI policymaking. Our consultations foster collaborative dialogue between researchers, policymakers, civil society, and industry experts to identify pressing challenges and co-create innovative solutions. Through strategic working groups and capacity-building initiatives, we ensure that diverse perspectives, including local contexts, are integrated into the policymaking process.

Our Approach:

  • Collaborative Dialogue: We facilitate inclusive discussions that explore challenges such as data governance, algorithmic accountability, and responsible AI adoption. Our approach reflects the perspectives of all stakeholders to drive impactful and sustainable policies.
  • Global and Local Focus: Strategic consultations in key regions, such as Nairobi and Accra, have helped shape cross-sector collaboration, enhance public sector readiness for AI, and support data-driven decision-making. These sessions address challenges such as data biases and privacy concerns while promoting ethical frameworks for AI adoption.
  • GovTech Focus: As GovTech emerges as a transformative force in public service delivery, our consultations help governments balance proprietary technology with open-source principles. For regions like Sub-Saharan Africa, GovTech consultations are particularly critical, contributing to better governance, enhanced service delivery, and increased accessibility for underserved populations.
  • Sustainability and Practical Impact: Our services emphasize evidence-based approaches that ensure AI’s sustainability and its positive impact on citizens’ lives. Multi-stakeholder collaboration and ethical AI adoption are central to our consultations, ensuring policies are both effective and equitable.
  • Youth Engagement and Innovation: We also engage young researchers to foster innovation and generational renewal, particularly in sectors like agriculture, where future-focused frameworks for collaboration are essential.

Our consultations result in actionable policy statements that articulate current challenges, identify gaps, and propose solutions for stakeholders across academia, governance, industry, and civil society. These consultations advocate for the strategic use of data, AI, and associated technologies to inform, empower, and create more sustainable public policies.
