Roman Marchant
Dr. Roman Marchant brings over a decade of experience in Statistical Machine Learning and Bayesian methods, specializing in decision-making under uncertainty. As Associate Professor and Head of Research at the UTS Human Technology Institute, the University of Technology Sydney, he leads a team focused on causal structure learning and policy decision-making. Roman Marchant has made significant contributions in academia, from teaching subjects like Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, and Quantitative Social Sciences, to designing teaching units for the CSIRO’s Data61 Next Generation Graduates Program. Beyond academia, He has co-founded three technology startups and is committed to ethical considerations in technology, having organized Australia’s first Ethics of Data Science Conference.
