Yuan Stevens

Yuan (“You-anne”) Stevens (they/she) is a legal and policy advisor with expertise on technology, human rights, and AI governance. Yuan brings years of international experience to her role as an Academic Associate at the Centre of Genomics and Policy, having examined the impacts of technological developments on vulnerable populations in Canada, the US and Europe. Yuan obtained her Juris Doctor and B.C.L. from McGill University, winning numerous awards for her academic excellence and contributions to her community. She completed her Masters of Laws (LL.M), Concentration in Law and Technology at the University of Ottawa, where Yuan was awarded the CLTS Impact Award by the Centre for Law, Technology and Society for her thought leadership on cybersecurity and digital rights.
