Community Update: New Editorial Appointments

Jan 26, 2026

We are pleased to announce new appointments to our editorial committees, including 10 Area Editors, 2 Translational Committee Member and a Data & Policy Blog Editor. These appointments further strengthen the journal’s editorial leadership and reflect the continued growth, diversity, and global reach of the Data for Policy network.

The newly appointed Area Editors will contribute across our six core focus areas, which structure both Data & Policy journal submissions and Data for Policy conference tracks: Digital & Data-Driven Transformations in Governance; Technologies & Analytics; Policy and Literacy for Data; Ethics, Equity, and Trustworthiness; Algorithmic Governance; and Global Challenges and Dynamic Threats. Together, these areas provide a flexible, interdisciplinary framework for research on data-informed policymaking and governance.

Bringing expertise from academia, government, international organisations, civil society, and industry, the new editors will support the peer-review process, help shape the journal’s editorial direction, and foster high-quality, policy-relevant, and interdisciplinary research. Their appointments reinforce Data for Policy’s commitment to inclusive and globally representative scholarship.
