Apply for Ambassador Scholarships for Data for Policy 2020 Conference

Sep 11, 2023

Data for Policy international conference series is the premier global forum for interdisciplinary and cross-sector discussions around the impact and potentials of data-driven innovations in governance and public sector. Each year we host around a hundred speakers after a thorough peer-review process hosting key global stakeholder views from across prestigious academic institutions, government departments, international agencies, non-profit institutions, and businesses.

Data for Policy is committed to increasing diversity in its delegate community. We understand that the cost of registration may be a barrier to participation, and are therefore delighted to offer Data for Policy Ambassador scholarships to suitable candidates. We particularly welcome applications from groups which are currently underrepresented in our community, in particular those from developing nations, who will extend our geographic diversity.

Scholarship awards are based on the level of financial need, and the appropriateness of the opportunity afforded to the applicant. To be eligible, applicants must have no other source of funding to meet the cost of registration.

There is no requirement to present at the conference. After the Conference, you will be asked to report on your experience, to disseminate to and engage with the community that you are representing. There may also be other opportunities to write blog posts about the Conference to engage with the wider Data for Policy community. Those receiving scholarships could also consider fulfilling volunteer roles in organising and running the conference (see link to social media and event assistant volunteer roles). Please indicate in your application if this is the case.

Application process: Please send team@dataforpolicy.org a one-page CV and a brief cover letter explaining:

  • your eligibility for this award
  • how your current position is relevant to the Conference
  • how you and the community you represent will benefit from attending the conference
