Jacqueline CK Lam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). She co-directs the HKU AI to Advance Well-being and Society Research Hub (HKU-AI WiSe) and the HKU-Cambridge AI to Advance Well-being and Society Research Platform. Jacqueline’s significant publications in AIfSG delve into the development and application of AI systems that prioritize fairness, interpretability, and value alignment for social good. Her work emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, combining insights from engineering, social sciences, neuroscience and ethics to create holistic and socially desirable solutions. She was formerly the Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Judge Business School, Visiting Fellow at the Hughes Hall, Visiting Academic in the Department of Computer Science and Technlogy, University of Cambridge, Visiting Fellow at MIT CEEPR and MIT EECS. With Prof. Victor OK Li, she co-leads an AIfSG research team that has won four consecutive US NAM Healthy Longetivity Catalyst Award (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024). She is currently co-editing a speical issue under Data and Policy, with Prof. Victor OK Li and Prof. Jon Crowcroft.
