Tuba Bircan is a Research Professor in the Department of Sociology at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Director of the BRISPO Research Group (formerly Interface Demography). She holds a BSc and MSc in Statistics and a PhD in Social and Political Sciences from Catholic University of Leuven. Her research spans migration, social inequalities, public perceptions and attitudes, ethical and trustworthy AI, and the governance and use of Big Data and AI to address global challenges. She is also deeply engaged in developing innovative methodologies and evidence-based social and public policies.
