Data for Policy CIC offers expertly designed workshops that bring together academia, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to tackle the evolving challenges of data science, AI, and emerging technologies in public policy. These workshops focus on critical themes such as algorithmic governance, data-driven policymaking, and the ethical implications of AI. Each session incorporates expert-led discussions, practical exercises, and interactive elements to facilitate knowledge sharing and co-creation of actionable strategies.
Key Aims:
- Exploring AI and Data Science in Policy: These workshops provide a dedicated platform to examine how AI and data science are reshaping governance, decision-making processes, and public service delivery.
- Challenging Traditional Policy Frameworks: Participants critically assess current policy approaches, identify limitations, and reframe strategies using data-driven insights and AI capabilities.
- Setting the AI Agenda for Governance: Discussions focus on defining a clear and actionable agenda for integrating AI-supported decision-making into public policy, ensuring responsible and equitable use of these technologies.

AI Assurance Panel

As part of a series of AI Fringe events complementing the UK Government’s AI Safety Summit, the UCL x AI Fringe featured a panel titled “Delivering on the UK AI Vision as a Global Leader for AI Assurance: An Expert Community-Driven Approach,” with the support of Data for Policy CIC. The panelists provided engaging commentary on AI assurance, sharing insights from their diverse perspectives as policymakers, lawyers, and technologists.
Digital Ethics & Algorithm Assessment

Algorithmic Governance Workshop

Data for Policy, alongside the UK Cabinet Office and the Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP) at the University of Cambridge, hosted a workshop at UCL that aimed to enhance academic-policy collaborations in human-centric algorithmic governance.
