We are pleased to announce the call for abstracts, full papers, and panel proposals for Data for Policy 2025 (DfP’25) – Asia Pacific Edition, taking place on 23–24 October 2025 at the Shanghai Research Institute for Intelligent Autonomous Systems (SRIIAS), Tongji University, in Shanghai, China. This landmark event is organised with the support of The AI Hub in Generative Models and Cambridge University Press, bringing together global thought leaders to advance critical dialogue on the future of AI, governance, and public policy.
Under the theme “Advancing AI: Innovations, Governance, and Ethical Frontiers,” the conference will examine the transformative role of artificial intelligence in reshaping global economies, industries, and societies. As AI technologies evolve, so too do critical conversations around fairness, accountability, data sovereignty, and global governance. This edition of the Data for Policy conference seeks to advance interdisciplinary dialogue on how innovation can be aligned with human values and ethical principles, while addressing the pressing challenges posed by technologies such as generative AI and AGI.
Submissions are now open for extended abstracts, full papers, and panel proposals that engage with the conference theme and offer policy-relevant insights informed by regional and global perspectives. While our conference theme provides a frame of reference, we welcome contributions on any topic that adds valuable insights to the ongoing data for policy dialogue, aligned with our standard focus areas.
Key Conference Topics
Submissions may explore, but are not limited to, the following core themes:
-
Innovation and Challenges in Frontier AI Technologies: Advances in generative AI, deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, and computer vision, and the associated challenges of data quality, model interpretability, and security in real-world applications.
-
Current Status and Future of AI Governance: Examination of existing regulatory frameworks, standards, and policies, and forecasting the evolution of governance mechanisms and their influence on AI development.
